Can anyone please help. My father has just got sky broadband. He is having difficulty. It says in the instructions ti insert the set up CD. The problem is there is no disc drive on his notebook. Does he need the CD or can it be done without. Many Thanks.

The CD should not be needed.
Just make sure the wireless is on
Search for wireless networks and it should pick up the SSID (some thing like SKYXXXX)
You will need to put in the network code
then snip and a tuck and bobs your auntieNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

The Sky setup CD should only be used to prevent ugly coffee stains on your desk.
As others have said, all you need is the Network ID, and passcode which are printed on the bottom of the router.
The netbook should discover the network ID and then just type in the passcode observing case. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
When I set my dads sky up I must admit I had problems. Im sure it can be done without a cd but for the sake of time I used the cd as I was struggling without it:idea:0

I managed to setup SKYB.B. without any problems and I'm not a very technically minded person. Received SKY box with wireless router, cables etc., plus CD. I didn't want to use wireless connection and found CD very easy to follow.0
