Strange bidding on my items

I am selling about 20 of the same item. Some people have 'bought it now' and some people are bidding on them. A couple of the items have got 2 bids on and one has got a 5 bids on, but there are still some left that have got no bids on yet, so why would someone bid on one that already has bids when they could bid on one with no bids and is cheaper?

I don't know the answer... but I'd like to whinge about the MUPPET who has just made an invalid bid retraction on an item I'm selling. The price has now dropped from £102 to £51 :mad:My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Well done  :rotfl:0 -
People do tend to bid on items that already have a bid , i guess it is a case of if somebody else is bidding on it then it must be ok?
Also try searching Ebay for a specific item say mans bike and when you look at them you will tend to be drawn towards the ones that have bids on, strange i know...donstermonster

If I see items that are listed in bulk and they are all way below the price I believe they will reach I will sometimes bid on the highest one. Its a bit of perverse logic in that it will be the last to be bid higher as the buyers search out the lower priced ones so in theory the highest priced one might/should end up as the cheapest. The assumption of course is they are all finishing at roughly the same time.0

yeah i think it is a subconcious confidence thing, people are scared of dodgy items on ebay and think , well if other think it is ok then it must be

thats probably 'bid shielding' in action
two user ID's, jack the price up till last min then retract one bid so you get it cheaper, happening a lot latley :-(money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
