book trading?

Hi. Are there any second hand book shops around Wales where you can take a few books in and get some credit with which to buy new books? Or just swap books like for like? I know there are a lot of websites but when you take in postage it doesn't work out so cheap as it should be. Looking for anything around Cardiff/Swansea/Bridgend type of area.

Thanks

Hi - I think Colin who has the bookstall in Cardiff market has this type of arrangement depending on what type of books you have.

There's a stall in the Rhiw market in Bridgend that does this.

I don't know as I've never used it. It only opened recently.

Hi guys. Thanks a lot for your replies. I hadn't noticed the board was bumped back (I managed to forget my post, somehow). Does anyone know what type of books the one at Cardiff Market has, and what sort of prices? Otherwise I might phone them later.
  • the stall I am thinking of in Cardiff market has modern fiction - crime thrillers, horror, Stephen King/James Herbert, any thrillers, that kind of stuff plus all modern fiction. Not a hell of a lot else if I remember rightly. No idea on trade in prices.

There is also troutmark in one of the cardiff arcades (as well as in Newport market).

I would have thought though that green metropolis would give you much more profit, when you do actually sell something there. http://www.greenmetropolis.com/
