car log book

i have lust bought an old vw beetle but it had a private reg and the owner wants to keep it. question is how do i go about getting a new log book

    the person you bought it from would need to apply to transfer or retain the number plate and then the vehcile can be transferred into your name. It will take a few weeks to do. have a read through this and this for more information.

    Is the beetle MOT'd and taxed? If it is the previous owner will need to take the documents to the Local licensing office where he will get new mot certificate and tax disc and the registration certificate will be sent to Swansea, it will be returned to the previous owner and he will pass it on to you.
    If it is not MOT'd and taxed he can't keep the registration number, it has to go with the car.
