Please help! I kill everything I plant!!

Chitting basically gives the potatoes a head start before you plant them by allowing them to form short dark sprouts. I put mine in open egg boxes and leave them in the sun lounge in February. I give them at least a month, then start planting 3 or 4 out every 2 weeks. I'm doing Charlottes and King Edwards this year, and the ones I planted out in March are growing really well out of bags. I planted the most recent lot 2 weeks ago straight into the ground and they are starting to come up now.

As for other easy stuff to grow - if you have underground space or deep pots try carrots. They taste great fresh and are not hard to grow - just don't plant them too close together.

If you want something above ground, try tomatoes and strawberries (I would recommend any variety of strawberries other than Alpine). Both are prolific and fruit for a few weeks. Strawberries should survive over the winter too.
