Readers of my previous Black Horse thread will now that I have referred my case to the FSO. I notified Black Horse of this by recorded letter. They responded by letter and reduced the outstanding arrears by £350, but still didn't confirm what amount was outstanding.
The FSO have responded to me, saying I must write to the Complaints team at Black Hours. But that they had forwarded my referral to them to Black Horse.
Originally, Allied International Credit were the DCA acting on behalf of Black Horse. They were calling regularly, so I reminded them by letter that I had asked Black Horse to only communicate in writing. They stopped ringing.
But now MacKenzie Hall are ringing me at home, at work, and on my mobile at least 6 times a day. I have told them 4 times that I will not discuss matters over the phone, that I have referred the dispute to FSO, and that there continued calling is harrassement. But still they ring, and now suggest a "doorstep collection".
I'm going on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks. Should I be concerned? Should I write to them and/or Black Horse?
Thanks

Keep a log of all the phone calls you are still receiving. See if you can get away with a £12 charge per phonecall received as damages for harassment Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced. There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0

also as to doorstop collection - its a joke in realitiy they have no powers (even less so than a paper boy) and are just used to bully people - you can send a letter to remove your permission for them to visit your property in the template letters on this site
the only ones who have any power are court appointed bailiffs and that is only after you have had a CCJ awarded against you and then only once you have defaulted on that CCJ and then only if they can gain peaceable entry into your property!Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
 10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
 20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0

Thanks Dark Convict has £12 per call previously been successful?
I have previously sent a letter advising a DCA that i would be charging them for everyphone call that i received. I made a log of each call they made and the time it ws made.
I never spoke to them on phone i just refused to answer the security.
I then duly sent them an invoice telling them that they had 28 days to settle the invoice or i would commence legal proceedings to recover the outstandng amount.
I never got the money for the invoice but the phone calls did stop.0

Good stuff Phil80 I like it.
Re gonzo I sent the template letter re no to doorstep collection and telephone calls to MacKenzie Hall and to Black Horse to remind them that they have a duty to notify agents acting on their behalf.
However, I have since received 2 text messagesfrom MacKenzie Hall, most lately today. I'm guessing that they are assuming this is okay, as I didn't expressly state no to communications by text message. Do I need to send a further letter, perhaps with an invoice for harrassement at £12 per contact?Debts at 02/02/20: c£225,000 inc CCs of <£1000 repaid in full monthlyDebts at 14/07/10: £278,091 inc £24k unenforceable and £16k consumer debt. No - go to this thread. Follow the instructions and send the template complaint letter I have put there.
Send it snail mail but get proof of posting (free from post office) - no need for Recorded Delivery, FOS will deem it to have been received two working days later.
The template letter explains all the time limits etc.0

Thanks magpiecottage. I have since received 2 further letters:
 1) Dated 4th June 2010 from Black Horse complaints. They did not answer my questions asking for a detailed breakdown of the amount outstanding. They simply attached a copy of the credit agreement.
 2) Dated 18th June from MacKenzie Hall Limited but on Black Horse letter headed paper enclosing a statement and stating that Mackenzie Hall are now handling my account. The enclosed statement is addressed Black Horse Collections.
For once the amount outstanding is the same in both letters. But the £325 refund promised in another letter from Black Horse dated 4th May hasn’t been applied to the account.
Can I know refer to FOS on the basis that Black Horse in Letter 1 haven’t responded to my complaint?
Is Letter 2 a valid notification that MacKenzie Hall are now handling my account? Surely Black Horse can’t transfer disputed debts to a DCA?
What should I do next?Debts at 02/02/20: c£225,000 inc CCs of <£1000 repaid in full monthlyDebts at 14/07/10: £278,091 inc £24k unenforceable and £16k consumer debt. But House no longer derelict!!!LBM: 14/08/07; Debt at LBM: £287131 inc CCs: £37,202.55;0

I have also recieved a 3rd letter from MacKenzie Hall following a letter advising them the debt is in dispute, no further telephone calls and no doorstep visits. But I've created another thread for this, see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2570237.
IMHO their response is a joke.Debts at 02/02/20: c£225,000 inc CCs of <£1000 repaid in full monthlyDebts at 14/07/10: £278,091 inc £24k unenforceable and £16k consumer debt. But House no longer derelict!!!LBM: 14/08/07; Debt at LBM: £287131 inc CCs: £37,202.55;0
