Fair price for en-suite fitting

Options
Hi, Can you please comment on the price below for fitting an ensuite?

Work is as follows:

- Rip-out old ensuite (Shower, Basin, Toilet, Shower Tiles, Splashback)
- Install new-plasterboard for shower alcove
- Board floor for floor tiles
- Plumb in new shower-pump and dual-diverter mixer valve
- fit new shower enclosure and tray
- fit WC unit
- Fit Basin unit
- box in exposed waste pipework
- tile floor and walls with 450 x 300 travertine tiles (probably around 18 sqm)
- seal tiles before and after grouting

Price was £500 inc vat labour only

The price does not include any materials, i.e. adhesives/grouts/pipes/boarding/tiles/suite etc.

Any Q's, then let me know..

Thanks

Takezo

Good evening: £500! Unbelievably cheap tbh....watch out for a potentially huge markup in said materials and 'unforeseen' extra labour charges if that price isn't a typo.

    Thanks Canucklehead,

Sorry, I was a bit unclear in my original post...

I have provided all materials, apart from small items, pipe, pipe fittings, screws etc, and the fitter will provide me with the receipts and I will reimburse him for this plus 10% for time/effort etc getting them...We had agreed this before work commenced.

What would you say would of been a ball-park figure for the fitting then, as I don't want to rip the guy off, as I am all for fair pay for a fair days work and all that...and if he does a decent job, I might give him some extra, as I would probably use him again.

    Thanks

    Way too cheap

Travertine requires extra work, Floor requires 25mm plywood with possibly decoupling membrane

Walls must not be plaster due to weight issues, Either cement render, Plasterboard or cement board

For a good job at the correct standard would take 7-10 days for a tradesman, I would charge £1400-£2000 in labour, Around £700-£850 in basic building materials(P/Board, Tanking, Copper etc)

    Cheers andy.
It is really cheap. I'll have to keep a close eye..I will talk to him about boarding the rest of the walls. He is using 18mm marine ply, and he said that he will screw it every 150mm...Do you think 18mm would be ok...He did say that the floor was not deflecting, and that it is a small floor area, less than 2 sqm.

I would not overboard with 18mm plywood, add that to a 12mm tile + 4mm adhesive bed and you have a massive step

Remove existing floor and replace with 25mm plywood

I would proceed with exteme caution with this guy, Ask for references and see his finished jobs in person
