Virgin Train Delay due to signal problems
My son and his GF travelled to see us last night but their train was delayed by 50 mins (on a scheduled 2 hour journey) due to signal problems. They had bought an off peak ticket (not advance) as they wanted a quick journey and were prepared to pay for that convenience. Can anyone advise are they entitled to claim any compensation for their delay?

Their Passenger Charter appears to indicate that you may get something.0

Don't think so. If it's to/from the northwest, compensation only kicks in at an hour. It's less for Birmingham/Wolverhampton - London, but going off 2hr scheduled journey, doubt they were travelling from there. Worth a try though.I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0

They were travelling from Euston to Liverpool.0
