Failed to deliver within 48 hrs...

I ordered a Flexi Shoerack last Sunday, and the email that confirming the order said that they guarantee delivery in 48 hours... I waited till Thursday before emailing to ask where my delivery was and got the response - 'apologies, but we ran out of stock because of a successful pr campaign'. Only just got a delivery note today - (FIVE DAYS LATER) and since it's the weekend, I doubt i'll get it till Monday, so more than one week after my initial order... what to do? Delivery was a whopping £6.99 so feeling a bit robbed here.

Refuse delivery and order it again.
But that might mean a longer wait....:cool:0 -
Did you pay extra for 48 hour delivery, or was the 48 hours only mentioned when you got the confirmation e-mail? If you paid extra for quicker delivery, then I would pursue it, but if not then you may find that it's more hassle than it's worth.0

interesting you feel thats a whopping charge?
i sent an item by courier today on a 48hr service and its cost £8.99
what site did you order from?0 -
Ordered it straight off the website... now I know that a shoerack isn't the smallest item, and normally wouldn't have minded paying for delivery, but in the event it took them a week to deliver it, it seems quite unreasonable especialy since they didn't even email to let me know.
Radajo - 48 hours is mentioned on the website & in order confirmation email. The website now says it is offering free delivery (and also I got a discount code for free delivery after I placed the order). I've emailed to ask for free delivery as compensation, will wait to see how it goes.....0 -
Fair enough then - it's always worth a try, and I hope they offer you the delivery charge back by way of retaining your business.0
