Tricky Question re orginiator bank

:huh:My ex pays a small amount of money into my account for my daughter each month. My question is, can I ask my bank to tell me which bank the money came from? At the moment on my statements it just has his name, which isn't much use to me.

Why do you need to know which bank? If he's paying you what he should, surely that's all you need? If he's not it's hardly an issue for a bank.

Because it is no where near enough to even help pay for breakfast club, let alone anything else. He has told the CSA he's moved away, very long story. I'm glad he's moved as I no longer have to worry about my safety or my daughters, but just wondered if that question could maybe be answered.

Even if you know which bank it was coming from you nor anyone else would be authorised to do anything, let alone request information.

Oh well, never mind. I'll just have to let it go. Like I said, it is a relief that he is finally gone...so long as he really has. I don't want to let my guard down if that isn't the case.

Understand the issue ..... but I'm afraid your Bank won't tell you where the credit originates.

And if they did tell you - it would only be from Lloyds Bank (for example) - with the modern world of internet banking etc, people move around but keep their bank accounts at the bank they had before - so even if he started living in London then moved to Liverpool (for example) chances are he would have kept the same banking arrangements so you would be no nearer to finding out where he lived........if this all makes sense!

Agree with Lillythepink - these days where you live or open an account bears no relation as to where your account is.

if you're trying to set the CSA onto him, you might find they have powers to trace the transaction.
