Thats alright Surfergirl, glad I could help, it's not often I can. There are so many knowledgeable people on here, that it is nice to be able to offer a solution. Also I have had some wonderful savings and advice from different people, it is nice to able to return a little bit. For example I saved 40 quid buying an Ipod from Boots with triple points just before xmas. Made my day did that! Er in doors still spending the Boots points, cheap smellies for while anyway!
Don't forget it takes less muscles to smile than to frown.
Ohhh just thought of another idea....how about presenting him with an application form for a part time job at the local supermarket... they are all recruiting at the moment!!! Suggest you duck when you give it to him.

I got a nice watch for my 18th, it was a really nice expensive Seiko diving watch that I only use when I know I won't 'bash' it!
I wear just a g-shock for work, but would take ages to afford to buy the Seiko watch myself. The Seiko was a gift that will last a long time and a bit of a luxury, been 4 years now and I still love it!0 -
I got a single lens reflex camera for my 18th which was fab, for my 21st I got contact lenses! How about a savings account with a nominal sum in and a direct debit form to save a regular amount - either you or him depending on whether he earns or not. Even better - a stakeholder pension.
there are all the usual toys like an IPOD, digital camera, fancy new phone (although it would be nice to give him something that would last).
Can he drive? - driving lessons would be good if not
Of course all these things are expensive.
How about a copy of the Motley Fool - a good book for investment advice for the novice. My friend got shares in her dad's company for her 21st and thought they were really boring, but they have really come up trumps for her in terms of dividends.
A flight to somewhere exciting with one or more friends would be good.
A hot air balloon flight would be good (my brother's 21st present), hangliding lessons (best £50 I ever spent in terms of fun!), a helicopter flight, deposit on a house (joke!)
A pair of headphones (for when the music gets too loud!)
Gym membership for a year
Of course these are all things I'd like for my 40th...(except I can drive!)

Surfergirl, just noticed they do flight experiences and the like in the Argos catalogue. Compare the prices with the different sites they have suggested on here if you are thinking of a helicopter flight.
