Hi
I am wondering if anyone can give me any advice please? I am looking to install a keylogger on a computer, but I really have no idea what I am doing....I am computer savvy to the point where I can turn on my laptop and use the internet!
Tbh I have actually had a little try but I don't think I did it right, and even if it did install correctly, because I asked it to be completely hidden, I have no idea how to bring it back up so I can see the logs...
Can anyone advise on which one might be best to use and how I would go about installing/checking it. It would need to be a very clever one because the computer it is going on is owned/used by a very tech knowledgeble person.
I have considered buying a hardware one that plugs into the keyboard slot, but I have no way of getting one delivered without it being seen. I don't want to involve anyone else so can't ask anyone else to take delivery at a different address.
I don't know what else to do, if anyone has any other options I would be glad to hear them:)

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

What are you thinking? That we would help you to do something so clearly potentially illegal.0

it could potentially be illegal, however so could driving a car. we still give people advice as to how they can save money on motoring, or how to keep their car on the road...GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0

Doesn't sound dodgy at all. I'm not sure if keyloggers in themselves fall under the grey area mentioned in the forum rules anyway."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It would be better if you explained what you are trying to do so that people could help you (and no doubt judge you
).
To answer the question, if it is going to be used by a 'very tech knowledgeble person' then I wouldn't bother. If they don't notice it, their antivirus and anti-malware will do.0 -
I didn't realise they were illegal, as I say I have very little computer knowledge.
Basically, I believe my husband is cheating on me, and when I have looked around the internet I have seen others say they proved their husbands/wives were cheating by installing a keylogger, I had never heard of them until now. If anyone knows a legal way of finding out what he is doing I would really appreciate it. Yes I know it is not ideal to do this but I can't cope with this uncertainty anymore.
Any help would be great xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

If money starts vanishing from your internet bank account, try this

The legal (and sensible) way is to ask him.!!

the point I was making Donnie was that we shouldn't judge because we don't know the reasoning. The OP has asked for advice, in the same way all of has done at one time or another. Most other people get an answer in one way or another, why should the OP be any different. We just assume that anyone wanting a keylogger is using it for illegal purposes, whereas someone who may be running their car illegally (without insurance etc) would never have that assumption made if they were asking a mechanical based question etc.
For all you/we know, the OP may have concerns about someone hacking into their private info on their own, home, PC. A keylogger would show if someone was using the computer when the OP was out, and would show what was accessed etc. perfectly legal as far as I am aware.
edit 1 - yes, perfectly legal - http://www.inside-logger.com/legal_keylogger.html
EDIT 2 - I see in the time I posted the above, the OP has been a little more forthcoming with background info. As such, I'd be quite prepared to help them, if I had anything on the subject to add that can't already be found with Google (hint hint to the OP)...

Well first the judging part: Your relationship is already over if you can't ask him and want to spy on him.
And the technical part: Keyloggers are designed to be invisible, as such, how do you know it isn't sending information to someone in another country as well as being visible to you?
You are on very risky ground, on both parts.0
