OOPs I've tranfered too much to my old credit card!!! What do I do??

I was doing a balance tranfer for the complete amount from my old card to my new card and I gave my new provider last months balance outstanding and not this months. So that means that I've asked for or transfered £120.00 too much. My new card provider says I can't change the amount. Any advice? Will I loose my 0% on balance tranfers or does this just mean that my old card in in credit by £120.00 which I can just ask for back and pay it to my new provider?

Aside from the obvious, ie take more care in future and save yourself wasted BT fees, no.

    No.

Yes, or simply spend it and pay your new provider from your income next month (although since there's no interest what's the point?). You'll probably have to accept a cheque anyway, which will take the thick end of two weeks to receive and clear.

No you won't lose your 0% balance transfer on your NEW card - they'll just charge you a balance transfer fee on whatever they've sent. You're OLD card will be in credit by £120 on your next statement (maybe less if you've got residual interest)

No need to pay if back - just spend it - normally quicker and easier than trying to get a cheque sent for the credit balance.

    EDIT: What he said ;)
