How Do I Keep My Curls In?

my sister has some little portable gas styling tongs. With these you can pop to the loo and re-tong bits (as long as you haven't got loads and loads of hair and will be gone for hours)
if you're hair is frizzy can you not just use anti-frizz styling products? My hair is ultra horribly frizzy. After washing my hair i use frizz-ease leave in conditioner, styling gel/mousse/cream/secret agent. whatever i can get my hands on actually. Then leaving it to dry naturally it stays curly (not perfectly tonged looking curly but it's a lot less effort also) and the curls wont drop out.0 -
i DON'T HAVE NATURALLY CURLY HAIR AND CAN'T REALLY AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER PAIR OF TONGS0

Thanks to all that replied to my thread! I used wella colour set after I had washed my hair with just volumising shampoo without conditioner and used elnet hairspray on each section and after and my curls stayed in all night!0

Just seen this, but can I suggest that if you have dirty hair, you can rub talc through it (put it in your hands and rub toegther, then rub through hair from underneath) as it will absorb grease and make it OK enough for a night out. I do this even on my very dark hair and it doesn;t show, but it does only really make it respectable enough for half a day/an evening. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Elnet is the best hairspray, worth the extra money I think, it seems to last for ages too. Glad you kept your curls in!0

I have heard about the talc trick but I would always much prefer to wash it

use some tresemme serum and some fructis curl mousse - I should know my hair is mega frizzy and that helps - plus I only wash it twice a week ever dry with a hair drier and I brush my hair once a week. Daily I wet my hair slightly upside down (as it were) and put serum in through the hair using fingers as a comb then the same with fructic curl mousse have tried others but its the only one for me.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

I have always had frizz hair but now I get comments all the time about how glossy and shiney it looks ( even strangers come up to me! ).After 20+ years here is what I have found- first I always use John freida serum ( get the right one for your hair texture, I find the coarse too runny and go for the normal as my hair is frizzy but fine ). I have tried very expensive ones and very cheap and this is definately the best- as long as you get the right texture for your hair.
Next I use Tigi curls rock -amazing stuff again brilliant for giving curls.Use some while dampish and then a bit near the end of styling to eliminate frizz and give extra curl. I then use ellenett hairspray
again the best. I then tong- however If I can get away with it I only tong the front and scrunch the rest ( it saves contantly toning and giving split ends ). I tong my fringe everyday and it makes my hair look bouncer. Lovely bouncy curls and less frizz ! if only i knew all this for the years I used straightners !
ps if it does get weak with over tonging use Keratase green vitalite tubes which is a god send. Will pep it right back up.0 -
