How Do I Keep My Curls In?

I have quite frizzy hair and tend to always straighten it. I'm going to a party tonight and would like to tong it. It always looks great when I have first done it, but about 30 mins into the night they curls all drop out. I'm looking to see if anyone could reccommend a product that I could buy in boots or superdrug that sets curls or will help them to stay in?

Spray each section with hairspray first. Makes it look really glossy too

I tend to find hairspray makes them drop quicker. I have loreal curling spray but it doesn't last long either. I have quite fine fly away hair

I had my fine waist length straight hair tonged into curls for my wedding.

I was advised not to wash it on the day of the wedding. Curls drop out of freshly washed hair quicker, as you wash all the natual oils away which help it stay in. I washed it on the morning of the day before the wedding.

The hair dresser sprayed each section of hair with hair spray, then tonged it, then sprayed the set curl again with hair spray. When they were all cool, she ran her fingers through my hair then sprayed it all again with hairspray. The curls were put in at lunctime, and were still in when I went to bed at 1.30am!

Thanks for that. I'm not keen on the fact that I shouldn't wash my hair. I didn'yt get the chance to wash it last night so it really needs washed now

That sounds like excellent advice from Becles.:T

All I would add is............do you have any L'Oreal Elnett hairspray? If not (and you've time to get to the shops), you could treat yourself to a can for this special party occasion.

I know it's very expensive:eek: but you could always buy the 75ml can which will easily fit into a handbag.;) It really is one of the best hairspray products.

Definitely not, you won't know (and neither will anyone else) that you've put hairspray on.;)

my hair eally could be doing woth getting washed first. any tips on what to do if i have to wash it?
