Cost of fitting new lights?

Options
Hey

Just wondered if anyone could give a rough idea for the cost of a handyman or electrician to fit new lights? (Replacing tatty white ceiling rose with new pendent lights).

Cheers

If its a simple like for like replacement i.e both plastic then it shouldn't be much at all. I'd say no more than £20 a light including parts.

£45 for one fitting, or about £55 for 3 fittings

The ceiling roses are currently standard plastic with horrid shades but I want to replace with pendent lights which are a (I quote from the Heals website) "generous globe of opal glass is suspended from a silver/grey ceiling cup via a slender steel wire". Will this cause additional problems?

Also, a handy friend of mine pointed out that if the new lights are heavy they may need additional support, although the Heals website makes no mention of this as a possibility. Any thoughts?

Shouldnt be too difficult to fit. Extra support means that atleast one of the screws will need to go into a joist, light fittings are ususally near a joist for this reason and so will be no problem for a sparky to fit it. TBH, I'd always screw into a joist anyway.
