paypal problem? Advice pls!

Hi, I wonder if someone could tell me why this has happened.
I transfrred somemoney into my paypal account from my bank, as there was no money in it and it's not linked to a credit card( don't have one, just debit) so money would be in there to pay straight away for any purchases.

The money cleared and went in 2 days ago, and i had bid and won 2 items the day before, so clicked pay via paypal thinking as soon as the funds cleared in my paypal acc the money would be paid to the sellers.

Not so!
I've just looked, and the payments are 'uncleared' and expected date of clearance into the sellers acc is in 6 days time!
I'm sure the sellers won't be impressed with this, as the items are just small baby things, at £1.99 each.

can anyone tell me why this happens when i have more than enough cleared funds in my paypal accout?
Thank you very much.

hi, it sounds like you clikced to pay from your bank account which paypal say is instant, it is infact an echeque that from my experience takes up to 10 days to clear, I normally contact the buyer and let them know this, as there is no much you can do, the seller should not ship before it is cleared as sometimes like real cheques they do not clear

I would contact the seller and tell her that you have paid by echeque and that you understand the goods will be shipped wehn payment clears

Have you tried to link your Debit Card? I think you will find as long as there is money in place it will work fine.

I have linked my debit card, but i think i did wrong in pressing 'pay now' the day before the funds cleared.
I have emailed the sellers and both have emailed back nicely :)
Thanks for all the advice :)
