I had Office XP on my laptop. Uninstalled this and replaced with Office Enterprise 2007 (still running under WinXP). Seemed to install okay but laptop seems to keep "twitching" is only way I can describe it. Things seem fine then the Menu Bar in Explorer turns solid black or the sound disappears and wheel scroll won't work in Word 2007. I am guessing but it looks like a driver issue maybe. I have Googled and searched MS site but no luck so far. Any ideas? Thanks!

Not much to go on, but the first thing I'd look at is the RAMIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

I have 2MB of RAM which is the maximum the laptop will run.0

For god's sake --> XP+Office 2003 onlyDo I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

What about your graphics card? So the issue affects your laptop since you installed Office? I doubt the installation of Office (when it's not running) would affect the Menu bar in Explorer (I presume you mean I.E)
Unless it's particularly memory hungry and your laptop freezes when you have Office open + other programs.
If you have mouse software (i.e to assign what the scroll wheel does in each programme) you may have to include Word 2007 to get the scroll wheel to work.
Advice would be to start it up in safe mode and see if it keeps happening!0 -

Windows Explorer and Windows internet explorer are 2 completely separate things.
Windows explorer is the program you use to navigate around the computer (ie the start menu and view/manage files stored on the computer) whereas windows internet explorer is the internet browser from MS.0 -

well...... actually for a long time they were the same program and anyone still running IE6 it still is.0 -
Thanks for replies so far and let me clear up some things. 1) Yes, actually RAM is 1.56GB. 2) Processor is Pentium 1.73. 3) I did mean Internet Explorer (not Explorer) Menu Bar goes solid black. 4) Problem with scroll wheel and Word 2007 looks a common problem if you Google it. 5) Laptop doesn't freeze.
Spoke to the IT techies at work who are adamant issue is nothing to do with Office 2007 installation. They suggested either virus (scan comes up clean) or the graphics card on the motherboard is the problem.0 -
