Well, I Killed Another Sucker

Vacuum cleaner gone to that place where vacuum cleaners go to die. In the last 5 years I have sent 2 Dysons and now a Bissell there.

I have decided to bite the bullet and buy a Henry, well I really would like a Hetty. Everything else in my life is pink, including my bathroom, my bedroom and my kitchen, so why not my vacuum.

It's an expense I really could have done without this month, if anyone knows the best deal for buying one of these then I am ready and willing to listen.

Thank you.

    Hello Alcmene

Do work for a tabloid newspaper as a headline writer? Your thread certainly has an eye catching title.:D

Don't you just press the "brush up" button on the vacuum head????? At least that's what you do on our Hetty.

I have a Henry and think it's great. Bought it to replace the crappy Dyson DC05 that didn't last half the time I expected it to. £300 odd quid down the swanny! Never again I tell you.

I was going to ask the same as Nile lol :rotfl:
I have a Henry because everyone recommended it. I find it really heavy and cumbersome to carry up and down the stairs and hard to push along the carpet even with the brush bar setting off. It is really good for doing the stairs and the car on the drive though. If you are young and strong then go for it but certainly not my fave. What is going wrong with your dyson? Have you followed the maintenance manual and changed filters etc., it might just need a good clean.

I don't understand how people 'break' a dyson , all the parts are replaceable and they will completely overhaul it for you , I've had mine ages at least 6yrs and its still perfect but I do clean it and empty regularly and wash the filter , but its money well spent and if anything goes wrong I'll replace the part not chuck and buy another...

Well said tanith! My Dyson works very hard as I have kids and cats and yet it is now about 7 years old and has never (touch wood here) even had to go for repair.

I simply do not understand how anyone can "break" that many vacuum cleaners in such a short space of time (unless she is hoovering the stables with it:rotfl:) and can only ask the op if you have actually tried emptying the bags or bins because they do not suck once full you know?;)

After sending more than i care to mention dysons to dyson heaven i invested in a miele and i have to say its the best hover i have ever owned, Yes you do have to have bags for them but i buy simlair ones to the orig of ebay and half the price and this has not effected my sucking power or performance.

I love how hard it sucks ! lol, its nearly lifted my carpet of the floor , you can adjust the sucking and jst one flick lets you switch from hard floor to carpet brilliant would 100% have another.
