Another insurance question
Options
Another 17 year old provisional insurance question (yawn) I'm afraid ! Just before anyone starts, have already tried a search on this.
Firstly I'm sure there was a post, which I can't find regarding an insurance company that offered that offered a flat rate 1, 2, or 3 month provisional policy for about £90pm for any car up to £20k, and/or ins group 18. Can anyone remember the name of the company ?
Secondly, an alternative is a classic car, pre 1995, anyone had good experiences with insuring a 17 year old.
Just for a laugh I got some quotes for my daughter to drive my Alfa as a provisional, one quote came back £11.5k !!

£90 a month is only £1k a year which would be cheap for a 17 year old in a group one or two car, no chance you'll get cover on a group 18 car for that sort of premium.
As for the classic car, the best bet is to phone a few of the specialist classic insurers although I think that most classic policies don't generate NCB which might be an issue0 -
£90 pcm is for provisional cover only. The rate is good because the provisional driver should always be supervised. As soon as they pass their test then the rate will rocket as they will be able to drive alone.
The £11.5k quote is a polite way of the Insurer saying: "Foxtrot Oscar".The man without a signature.0
