    Ever walk passed any skips? Loads of free wood in them. even if you only use it for practice.

    Also often see old pallets going spare, which can be dismanteld to provide decent timber.

    If you can get hold of Permaculture Magazine in the last year or so they have detailed plans for a shaving horse, Adirondack chair, table etc, all made from pallets and throw out lumber.
