Addendum Fraudulent Charges on NATWEST Account. Anybody know who Addendum are please

Don't want to worry you at all but I've received a message from a friend today asking me to check on this site if anyone has mentioned any company called ADDENDUM as she has had 8 payments of £7.50 and 1 of £5 taken as a card transaction showing on her NATWEST account. She knows nothing of these at all, has no idea who ADDENDUM are and is totally stressed out as the bank have said it is going to take 10 days to look at her claim. She's already living hand to mouth as it is.

If these are fraudulent transactions then the bank must immediately refund the amounts taken while they investigate the matter (unless they can prove that the account holder has acted neglegently or fraudulently).

This is a provision under Regulation 61 of the Payment Services Regulations 2009
Payment service provider’s liability for unauthorised payment transactions

    61. Subject to regulations 59 and 60, where an executed payment transaction was not authorised in accordance with regulation 55, the payment service provider must immediately—
    (a) refund the amount of the unauthorised payment transaction to the payer; and
    (b) where applicable, restore the debited payment account to the state it would have been in had the unauthorised payment transaction not taken place.
Your friend should complain to the bank mentioning this Regulation. If the bank fails to comply then a phone call to the FSA (0300 500 5000) might help.

More likely to be this dodgy mobile phone outlet:

(I don't think a bill at Addendum the restaurant would come to £7.50... ;))
