With the scrapping of HIPs

Will there be any chance to be refunded if you have paid for a HIP in the last few months?

No, why would there be?0

You've paid for a product and a service from a company that produces HIPs. They cost money to produce, the information is applicable only to your property and they did the job you paid for. When you started marketing, you needed one. You can't get a refund on worn knickers!
In fact, you still do need one; these things have to be passed in Parliament, they don't just change law overnight.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Haha, not a chance. You have paid for a service which you recieved.
Everyone knew when the tories got in they would be scrapped but if you wanted to go on and sell then you needed a HIP.Squish0 -
I paid for a HIPS on the 15th of May as directed by my estate agent, and have now seen reports/annoucements from the Con-Dems as early as the 12th of May.
Are my agents at fault for not advising me as my property did not go on the market until the 17th of May. So can I pressure for a refund from them on the cost of the HIPS or have it deducted from my final fee.
I am in agreement that I have paid for a sevice that has been carried out, by a third party but at the direction of my agent (who ultimately I pay to market my house and advise me acorrdingly).0 -
But at this current time you need one to market your house. Doesn't matter what was announced on the 12th May.0

Well, if you're only seeing them now, why would you expect your EA to have seen them back then???
Do you really expect them to conduct their business on the basis of press reports?0
