I know this might sounds a bit silly.. and sorry in advance as Im new at this chat forum. My husband and I have just recently gotton into an IVA after racking up just under £50k in unsecured debt in 2 & 1/2 yrs. Ive seen the threads on the bank charges.. can I contact the banks that I have included with the IVA? Halifax and Natwest were part of the IVA with our overdrafts but Halifax took the cake with the final debt to them around £2500 and only £500 of that was the overdraft.. the rest were fees.0

co-operative bank are good and you have 24 hour banking with them and also on line. They issue an Electron Card, similar to Solo with Nat West.0

I'm in an IVA with payplan. I've been told that I'm free to claim my charges back, BUT all the money recovered must be put into my IVA. Now, for someone like myself where I have a lump sum to find at the end of the 60 months it's a job worth doing, as this money will come off this sum!

Hi
I thought with an IVA once you have paid the "term" that is then finished.
What large sum have you to find? Sorry if this sounds a dumb question.
Thanks0 -
Basically my offer of 31p in the £ was accepted by all except HSBC who demanded a further condition of 35p in the £. As it was the same IVA proposal but with a condition I was able to make payments to 31% for 0 payments and then a lump sum 4% at the end. This 4% I can make up through any extra payments that go into the IVA such as bonuses/windfalls etc.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345

Hi Starrunner, I can't answer your question but I thought I'd point out that you would get better help on it if you posted it on one of the threads for reclaiming bank charges. There is someone called bookworm who gives brilliant advice on things like this. They should be on one of the bank charges threads or you could go to the website which helps you re-claim your bank charges : https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk
Hope that helps. Stick in there everyone who is claiming their charges. It does work, I received a cheque for the full amount after I started a court case.24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)

The other account I was thinking about was the Co-op basic one. Do I apply for that before they finish the credit check or wait to see if we are refused the A & L one?
Sorry bluezone can't apply for a Nat west one as we owe them money from when our business went belly up.
Have looked at the reclaiming charges thing and will go down to the local internet cafe and will print out the forms to send off.
Thank you for all your help everyone. What a great community.
Sorry can anyone tell me what to do? Should I apply for a Co-op account before A & L make a decision?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
