hi folks

I revisited xbox media center today after not using it for years
have to say what an amazing bit of kit its become

played every vid standard I could find all over the network using samba shares
becomes a multi region dvd player into the bargin
also has i player and youtube plugins

what a cool peace of software all running on an xbox you can get off ebay now for about £20

i set mine up a wee while ago for similar reasons
Im all HD now really so the xbox is a little underpowered
however i got a component cable from ebay just to see how it looked in 720p/1080i
quite impressive for the spec of the machine
when i finally get around to putting a flat panel in the bedroom i may network in the xbox 1 though i probably will just bung a media PC in

yep know there are lots of other ways to do this but what got me was you could make a full function media center for not alot of money

I had the xbox gathering dust but you can get one for under £20 on ebay and the like

Must agree, got an old xbox a couple of years ago from Game for a tenner, stuck on XBMC and away it went, got a Popcorn hour now but it was the best i thing had at the time, and sosimple to use
