Burst pods on Reebok Easytone trainers
twoodat
I bought a pair of the Reebok Easytone trainers about three months ago from Debenhams. I still have the box and receipt. I have been wearing them daily to walk for at least an hour. One of the balance pods is now burst (air-filled pods designed to create instability) and the sound of the escaping air when I walk has made them unwearable. Am I within my rights to return them for an exchange since they are sold for the purpose of walking? They cost £60!

Yes.........................."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

I'm really worried that they refuse because I have worn them so often. What can I say if they refuse to exchange them?0

Don't worry about it, you have rights under the Sale Of Goods Act for repair/replace.
Doubt they will offer repair, they might offer cash back but that's unlikely also.
It is not relevant how many times you have worn them but if your worried don't mention it. Just take the shoes back explain you only bought them 3 months ago and would expect them to last a lot longer than that."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

It's not unreasonable to assume that a pair of shoes will be worn daily!0

i think they would replace them....out of interest do they work? good luck0

I wear my work shoes for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week and would expect them to last more than 3 months!
Take them back, be assertive, and INSIST on a replacement.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Industry acknowledge that "quality shoes" ie leather brands include Gabbor, ecco, lotus, seibel, van dal, skechers etc... should last between 300-400 miles
They gauge it in miles walked not time owned
I would push for a refund if I was you"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

Well it turns out I couldn't find my receipt after all which was a bit worrying! Anyway, I took them back today with my credit card statement. I actually only had them two months! I thought it was three but two is unacceptable! Debenhams were actually really good though. They were able to find the transaction in their till system by date and they gave me a gift card for the full amount. Apparently I wasn't entitled to a refund since I didn't have the till receipt but I buy a lot of stuff there so I'm not unhappy. My advise on the Reetones is that they are lovely shoes and I believe they do work but I think that's down to the length of time I walked each day. My legs are noticeably more toned, although I have been working out more as well. However, evidently to walk long enough to get the benefit wears them out too quickly to warrant shelling out £60+ for two months wear!0

I sense sarcasm, which I think is unnecessary, its good advice to know and it certainly wasn't delivered in any other manner than politely.0
