What Is/Where Can I Find My Disability Registration Number?!

Hello everyone
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice, I am profoundly deaf (bilateral) and suffer with Meniere’s disease (a balance disorder of the inner ear which makes me susceptible to drop attacks/nausea etc…)
I have purchased tickets for this year’s V Festival later in the summer and have since been told (& read on the website) that they will admit a carer in for free of charge as an escort for me.
It states on the V Festival website that I need to state my disability registration number when booking – can someone confirm what this is? I claim MR care & LR mobility DLA, have a disabled persons freedom pass, Med Exempt card etc…but am not sure where I can find this number… social services say I’m on the hearing disability register but there’s not a “membership” number as such, and my case worker is not sure what the V promoters mean by this…
Obviously it’s not a simple task for me to just pick up the phone and call See Tickets to ask, as I am dependant on assistance from someone to do this for me because I cannot hear over the phone.
If anyone could help me by explaining what is meant by “disability registration number” I would be extremely grateful.
Also – completely unrelated to my post, but I wanted to say how nice it is to read through these forums and see how strangers are so happy & willing to give valuable advice & help one another. I’ve learned lots from being a member, so thank you.

hi i think it may be the number on the blue badge as thats what my husband has to use for his regstered number0

I wonder if the promoters even know what they mean!
The number of people with a Blue Badge is very limited, so it needs to be more than that. Also some areas still have a disability register, but it is not a national scheme.
I would enter your NI number, and if they ask for more info offer confirmation of your DLA entitlement. I found out yesterday that my local theatre has their own disabled register (which enabled me to get a front row seat for £12 rather than £27!), and all they require is proof of DLA.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Not many places do disability register these days! i'd send a copy of DLA letter as proof!0

disabled registration went out the window in most areas when dla came in,your dla is usually enough proof for most people offering discounts,if its for a free carer then that plus a letter from dwp with proof of CA will or should surfice.0

everyone else seems to identify you through your NI nubmber...........but i wouldnt risk giving them that!!!
(it made sense as i thought it, then realised how stupid it was as i typed it lol)0 -
Assuming your DLA is paid into your bank account, take a look on your bank statement. The reference which is quoted alongside that payment is your reg. number (at least, thats what I've always used, and no one has ever rejected it).
I THINK it includes your NI number, by the way.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

Most music festivals (including T in the park, download, sonisphere and bloodstock) will allow a free carer to anyone who can provide a valid award letter for DLA care component alongside a letter from a GP/hospital specialist saying that you need care for a substantial part of the day and can't attend the festival without a carer. You probably wont find any real info on their website, it's best to email the address on the main page, a quick outline of any benefits you get (disability wise) and the difficulty you have.
The only problem is that I've always had to book a carer with my ticket, not separately as disabled camping space and access has to be considered so they have limited tickets, might not be too happy changing your tickets over.0
