A virus has been detected but I have tried to run various software and none of the freeware will run as it seems to keep getting blocked. Can anyone send me a link to something that will work? I am using a laptop.
Thanks
                Thanks

Do you know the name of the virus?
What detected the virus and what software have you tried?0

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
 http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
 reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
 http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)0

Might not be able to download them if the virus is blocking or redirecting HTTP traffic. Best bet is to download them on another machine, put them onto a memory stick and then run them up on the infected machine in safe mode.0

You may need to rename the executable files too as some malware stops well known files from running (e.g. mbam.exe).Might not be able to download them if the virus is blocking or redirecting HTTP traffic. You could download the rkill.exe program to run in Safe Mode first, it stops a lot of known problem services.0
