Does that quote include changing the crown after whitening for one that matches the new shade? How to find a dentist.
 1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
 2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
 3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
 4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0

New to the NI forum - hi everyone!
I'm getting married next year and looked into getting my teeth whitened and new crowns to match for the occasion. I priced a private clinic in Belfast and was quoted £2400 for 4 crowns and £500 for laser whitening and bleach packs to use at home.
At a routine visit to my dentist for a check-up a few weeks later I asked her about the possibility of getting the crowns on NHS and working in collaboration with the clinic to have them match after whitening. She explained to me that the laser whitening only starves the teeth of oxygen temporarily and so makes them whiter, but when the oxygen returns naturally after a few days your teeth return to how they were previously. It is the bleach packs that you use at home which actually whiten your teeth and she can do this for me for £120. 4 new crowns with her will cost max. £380 on NHS so in total £500 with dentist compared to £2900 with private clinic.
 Shocking difference!0

 Shocking difference!
I went to my local Porsche garage and asked "How much for a car?"
 "£75 000" said the salesman.
Driving back, I saw a Citroen garage and popped in there.
I couldn't believe that they were selling cars for under £10 000!!!!!
How shocking that cars are sold for such a difference in price! How to find a dentist.

Good analogy Toothsmith! I personally have never had my teeth whitened (nor do i feel the need to) however two of my close frends have had it done in the past 6 months through their dentists using what is supposedly "the best technique" . Both of them said that the pain afterwards especially during the first 24hrs was utterly unbearable, no amount of painkillers would touch it and they both said that they would never recommend it to anyone for that reason (friend #1 pleaded with friend #2 not to do it but she thought #1 was being a wuss and decided to go ahead - she regrets it!)
Both of them have also already lost the "whiteness" - neither smokes or drinks excessive quantities of tea/coffee/red wine etc but it has already faded. Therefore the money and the pain have been for absolutely nothing...
For a special occasion such as a wedding, your guests won't pay a blind bit of notice to how white your teeth are. If you want the wedding photos to be nice so you can pretend you looked perfect, as has already been said above any photographer worth their salt will photoshop the images to make you look even more fabulous.0

The 'best' technique is the slow trays and gel methods that take a few weeks to change the colour deep down - Much as AG78 was told above.
The 'in surgery' methods do give instant 'WoW' but they don't last long unless backed up with the gel & trays. How to find a dentist.
