No land line

Hi, I have a Halifax Ultimate Reward Account and went in to my local branch and ordered my money for my holiday over the telephone. I was refused the money as I have no land line telephone, which they needed for security reasons. This is not shown in the very large book that came to me when I opened the account, has anyone else come across this and what did you do? I had to give my husbands work number, not that he is ever at that office, to say I wasn't happy was an understatement.

We don't have a landline either.
We do have a Sipgate.co.uk landline number which works over VOIP and 3G (our broadband) and gives you an inbound landline number which people can call with a local STD area code.
If you like, you can have it redirected to a mobile, or just have it take messages.
No line rental, 1000 minutes = £5.90
Apparently 1 in 8 people have got rid of fixed landlines now so Halifax are a bit behind the times.0 -
Take the cash out and get the currency elsewhere. I doubt if it will cost you any more.0

use the travel money maximiser tool to find out where you will get the most foreign currency of choice for your sterling, then go there with the cash. You'll have more cocktail money then

!!!! them. There are lots of places to get your travel money without needing a landline. I have never heard such nonsense.0

Sounds like rubbish excuse to me. Never heard of this before. But then there could be a marker on your account that has triggered off extra checks0
