Thanks indelacio, sounds good so no drm restricting you to only use a game on one PC.

Definitely no restriction at all. I have purchased games through Steam and can play on any PC or my laptop as long as I log in to Steam and download to each computer I want to use.

Downloaded Portal the other night and I'd say it's definitely worth the hassle of signing up to Steam for if you don't have an account already!

    Cheers

Good news DebtMagnet. At least I will be able to give it a go on the new PC if it doesnt work on the decrepit one :-)

Creating the steam account was easy and I can see that portal has been added to it so all looks good :-)

    Cheers

Thanks to all for pointing it out. But am I missing something as steam appears to do nothing on my mac, so can't download portal either. Program just doesn't respond and steam tech support doesn't recognise the account I set up even when I'm logged in. So I can't ask them why it's not happening. Any clues?
I think I remember when I joined a while back (because of free games with an nvidea graphics card) you have to sign up to tech support seperately, its crazy but yeah. when you open steam it should start to download, if theres a fualt I think you can make it redownload the program.

Oooh and dont forget everyone when you close steam it stays in your task bar by the calendar as a little icon so its running in the background unless you shut it down properly. just pressing the ex doesnt exit steam, so it could slow down your internet it if decides to update something while you're doing other stuff.

Everyone should play this! A great game.

    Ah, now the question is......

....will one of the £150 netbooks (i.e. MSI Wind U100 or U130) as detailed on this site, play it!? :)

My PC is far from new, more than 5 years old certainly, and its playing it just fine!

I'll just add my voice to the virtual cacophony and say that everyone should give this game a try. It's great fun, with mid-bending puzzles and a great sense of humour. Get it now!
