simply try elsewhere. 1 unsuccessful applicatoin won't affect a near exemplary credit file.

the cynic in me is also wondering if there's an eau de troll, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now :p

    don't worry ;)

in a place like this, any seemingly unbeleiveable 1st post is often mistaken as being created by someone who has an intention to start a debate/discussion, commonly known as a troll.

try for a loan elsewhere though. maybe the people you bank with?

no im defo not a troll just an unhappy santander customer as it was my bank i tried!!! they wouldnt even up my 2k overdraft as said the way i use my account i.e always go into my overdraft ...means dont have enough credit at end of month to up my OD...its madness!

not really, they look at your spending patterns
if you are using all your money and maxing your OD every month
they look at tihs as someone where the wheels could fall off
if you were to leave £100 a month in the bank for say 6 months
you would most likely get the loan fine as your OD would be dropping

So you earn 97k but are always into your overdraft. Sounds like they are right about the balance of your income and outgoings and that you can't afford to borrow any more.

Using all of your overdraft every month is looked on as not handling credit well. Especially on your size of salary

You could try looking to borrow elsewhere, but if you are taking home £5.3k each month then any bank may question why you need such a loan.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to your credit score, its you full credit history that is important. What other debts do you have? Do you have open credit card accounts etc with no balance on them?

A 97K pa salary equates to a take home of £5,295pm. If you're spending this and up to 2K more each month I'm not surprised your application was declined. How you would service the loan? smiley-confused005.gif

  • LOL, sorry I think this is funny. 5 years ago they would have given you a £7000 loan if you earned £50 a year. Now they won't give it to someone who earns a good amount of money. Just shows you Banks have not got a f*cking clue.

If you earn that much why on earth do you need a loan?
