I've been trying to change home phone and broadband from BT to Orange. BT tell me that this invloves Orange using LLU and that if I want to return to BT iI will have to pay a reconnection fee (£125??)
Any experience of this or the service from Orange for home phone and Broadband?

Generally returning to BT doesn't incur the fee, but Openreach can charge if they like.
Orange have just given up with broadband / LLU and handed the keys back to BT, so actually, it won't make a blind bit of difference to what you have now. It will still be BT, albeit resold under another name.
For ADSL you'd be better off with a genuine LLU service like o2/Be.0 -

Would this be for quality of service issues? Orange has home line rental, eve & weekend calls & Broadband at £13.14 for 18 months (as an orange mobile customer). I don't think O2/Be have anything as close in cost.0 -
The concensus of opinion on the ThinkBroadband forum is that an o2/Be line is best since it avoids BT exchange equipment altogether - specifically BRAS profiling - and thus will provide a potentially faster broadband speed.0
