cheap accomodation in Brighton

Hi there,
can anyone suggest any cheap B&Bs in Brighton? I've just been invited to a wedding on 7 August and I'm having trouble finding anywhere to stay that isn't £100 per room. I'm looking for a twin room for around £25-30 per person per night (staying Fri and Sat nights).

Any help would be much appreciated - I'm about to exchange contracts for my first property so money is a bit tight. The wedding invite has come as a total surprise hence why I have very little in my budget!

Thanks
katie

Hi, sorry I can't be of any help---I just tried a look on late rooms and got nothing in that budget. We're staying in Brighton ourselves in June and had enough trouble finding cheap room then as it's the half term week. I guess summer hols will make it even worse for you. Is the wedding in the main part of the town? If so could you stay outside of Brighton and get the train in? It might also work out cheaper as parking is a nightmare in Brighton, with very few places having free parking

Yes unfortunately Brighton is really expensive so you may be better off out of town. And agree about parking- most hotels charge £15 upwards per day (which matches most NCP rates) and a lot of B&Bs only have a few spaces.

There is a Jurys there and I've seen rooms there for around £60 and also there are the obvious travelodge and premier inns who sometimes do sale rooms.

Can't help on B&B's though as I've never found one suitable for us and have always ended up with hotels.

Thanks for your help - glad its not just me that is finding it tricky! I think we're going to stay in Eastbourne as there is a premier inn for £69 a night. Phew!

Have you tried Saltdean or Seaford, which is just a couple of miles away but not so trendy or expensive?

Have you considered the travel Inn at Newhaven, have just checked and for 2 people for 2 nights for 1 room in August it would be £118 total.

Another option is to look at B&B's somewhere like Lewes which is the county town of Sussex and is a beautiful place. I haven't had a chance to look at availability or prices but m,ight be worth checking

What about using tesco clubcard vouchers to book one of the hotels there that qualifies?

Update: Brighton Pride is on that weekend as are Races at the Race Course, I would say find what you can now and book it as the places I had in mind are already fully booked that weekend,

Used to live in Brighton and yeah, it's pretty expensive to stay in a hotel there. Staying in a nearby town is a good bet, you can always grab a bus into town pretty cheaply (or even splurge on a texi, it's not too expensive if you're sharing).
