i understand what you are saying about ordering Sky+ online, this is what I did, tehy installed HD and said they do not offer sky+ boxes anymore.
Ah yes, the web page now says "Sky+ box: You will receive a Sky+HD box which has all the features of Sky+."

I have tried saying, I want out of the contract but they said I would then be in breach of contract as I have signed up for 12months.

I have asked for a discount and they have said no. More than anything I just want what I ordered.
Well as lucylucky says the fact they've admitted they mis-sold it is in your favour.

You're never going to end up with Sky+ features by the sound of it given where you live. You'll just have to keep escalating it if you want to cancel. The only problem I can see you running into is that you agreed when you ordered that "Sky+HD box prices may vary if you live in a flat. You must get any consents required (e.g. landlord’s)." but it's unreasonable IMHO to expect you or your landlord to know that it would need a second cable if you discussed getting permission and I can't see anywhere in the T&Cs or order process that specifies this, even when you select you live in a flat.

That's wrong, you can go on Sky's web page now and order Sky+ and not HD. They do seem to have discontinued standalone boxes by the looks of it though.
    ll.

Yes you can order Sky+ but you are now sent a SKY+ HD box as they dont issue Sky+ boxes anymore :D

    http://www.sky.com/shop/new

They are all HD boxes listed so you can view the free to view HD channels without subscription
