Hi
I have had 2 quotes from local double glazing companies in Kent for the following windows and doors all rosewood finish
8 windows with side openings and fan lights Slim line PVCU 28mmm high grade Pilkington seeal unit £5258
Front door with side panel £1396
Back door £985
French doors £1826
Both quotes are more or less the same total £9500
Is this about right?
Many thanks

We had windows put in almost 2 years ago. Rosewood finish (white on the inside) slim line pvcu and Pilkington (tinted) glass. Hardwood picture frame finish on the inside.
3 windows with side openings
2 top openers
4 opening from the bottom
1 non-opener
1 back door
We were £8100 for that.
Then we got French windows put in (same specs as before - had to wait util building consent came through and that is why it was done later). Including cutting down the wall we were £2600 (but £400 for that was to get plans drawn up for French doors and raised decking) so really £2200.
This was for Veka windows. We thought this was reasonable, but then I see quotes on here for windows and I wonder! I have seen other windows and the quality and finish isn't the same as the one's we have. We did get a quote from another couple of local builders and they only came in £800 cheaper, and they didn't have a 10yr insurance backed guarantee. This wasn't a big multi-national, but it was quite a big local double glazing firm.0 -
Nevertold I see you got quotes from companies in Kent. I am shopping around at the moment and I got a reasonable quote from apollotradewindows.co.uk. I am thinking of paying them a visit so I can see the product for myself. I e-mailed them the rough sizes/shape of the windows and they sent me a quote.-Keep your eyes to the sunshine and you would not see the shadows-
