royalmail small or large letter?

I was wondering, alot of my stuff i sell gets posted first class, however with the new size requirement, mine just squeezes through the small letter slot, it does not drop through but can be pushed through, now is that classed as a small or large letter?

My post office would class that as a large letter, but it seems that different POs are going to interpret the rules differently.

Probably a large letter. I think it has to be able to drop through without any assistance.

so from 32p first class, I have to now pay an extra 12p because of this stupid system, even second class still cost me 5p extra. OMG! :eek:


wonder what would happen if i posted it with just a 1st class stamp, are they going to measure every letter? surely they allow those on the boaderline to pass through, is there a Postman Pat around we can ask?

For me it isn't the envelope size that is the problem it is the depth, I sell something with a small ridge (just a few centimetres) that doesn't lay flat, and it won't pass through the slot.:eek:
