Sainsbury's have really got my goat!

Worst shopping trip ever after work. Had a list of 12 fairly basic items to get, all for my planned meals. Fresh produce nearly empty. Only manged to find half the items so now I can't do my planned meals and have ended up buying ready-made instead. Will have to make ANOTHER trip later in the week. Freezer with veggie stuff defrosting in front of your eyes. Told cashier who couldn't care less, typical 'yeah, it's been like that for a couple of days. Think they've got someone coming'. Well, move the b***** food in the meantime before everyone gets food poisoning then!
Arghh!
Arghh!

I have noticed this in my local Sainsburys. We often find:
No fresh produce (as you said)
Freezers that are leaking all over the floor
No staff on the tills
Ice cream that has clearly been frozen, defrosted and frozen again (it gets icicles on the outside)
We once bought an expensive frozen dessert that had been defrosted, melted and then re-frozen.
On another occasion we waited over 15 minutes to buy something from the electrical department, despite asking for a member of staff several times.
I am thinking seriously of abandoning Sainsburys completely but where do I go?I hate all supermarkets but there are no good small, local butchers and so on.

We have stopped buying meat at our local Sainsbury's because of the number of times we've seen mince or joints that have obviously been left out of the cooler and are going manky before their sell by date. Its obvious to us so why don't any Sainsbury's staff notice and remove it?0

Sainsburys(Derry) have gone downhill, Fresh produce is either great or non existent and I have witnessed supervisors yelling at staff, more often than not the you cant get served at the bakery because there's no one manning it.
Most of the the staff are young men and girls probably earning min wage.
Floor staff working hard only to be abused by incompetent management does'nt impress me much. These young adults are much maligned but treated very badly. If they were treated more like adults maybe staff turn over wouldn't be so high....
Local tescos offers better service."Food has replaced sex in my life. Now, even I can't get into my own pants."0 -
I was a little disappointed when I read that there wasn't a pet goat involved in the complaint.
Seriously though, yes I agree that Sainsbury's seem to be going downhill. I much prefer Tesco's.
Perhaps you should copy and paste your thoughts in an email to the store manager, or to head office customer services? They will, I am sure, appreciate constructive criticism like this.DFW Nerd 0350 -
I could see that on the front of the sun....:
"Sainsburys' in goat kidnap HORROR!"
and on page 3, Pocohontas from Droitwich says:
"I think it's terrible that Sainsburys' are stealing peoples goats just so they don't have to pay 16 year olds to do it."
YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!!!The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

Think i will do, actually. Just thought it would be better to vent here before letting myself loose on an unsuspecting Sainsbury's manager!0 -
I used to be a loyal Sainsbury's shopper but I have noticed that it has gone down hill of late. There are often empty shelves in my local store. Also there are less knck down bargains than there used to be. My local store is quite small (which I like) but they hae tried to diversify too much. There a bits of clothing here and a few homewares there. I would prefer it if it concentrated on providing a good range of grocercies (but of course there is more profit to be made on the other stuff).
Sadly, our local butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer and baker shut up shop some years ago. Hardly surprising when there is a Tesco, Asda, Morrisions and Sainsbury's in two miles of each other.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0
