Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone is in a similar scenario to us or if anyone knows the answer to my question!
My partner earns 22771 annually in a full time job. I have not been in work since 2007 when i had our child who is now 3 years old.
We have been receiving WTC and CTC.
This week i have started a part time job which will be 16-20hours a week at £6 p/h.
Does anyone know how this will affect out TC's? Obviously i am expecting them to be reduced. Will we receive anything at all!?
Thankyou for any help!

Hi.
Best thing to do is go on to the Hmrc Tax credits website.
Click on the "do i qualify?" link and enter all your household income details in there AS IF YOU HAVE STARTED THE NEW JOB. So enter your partners £22k earnings and your earning from your new part time job.
At the end you will get a figure of how much tax credits your household will be entitled to . This figure will be from now until April 2011 , so you simply need to divide this figure by how many weeks is left between now and April 2011....which is 46. This will now tell you how much your new payments will be (approx) weekly with you in the new job.

Are you sure you gave the correct figures? As the limit for WTC is just under 18k. If you earn more than that you arent entitled.0
