British Gas condemning Boiler HELP!

I had one condemned by Transco before (I called them because I suspected carbon monoxide) - they put sticker on saying 'Immediately Dangerous' which made it a criminal offence to even attempt to use it. Unless you sticker says something similar, I don't see why you shouldn't ignore it if a second opinion disagrees.

Bob property, I ignore everything that BG tell me, frankly I consider them to be nothing short of crooks.

I had a maintenance contract at their main building in Wales ( Helmont House) a few years ago and the lies that the sales staff were encouraged to say to get contracts, buisness etc were disgusting, and I reported then to the Ombudsman on more than one occasion.

As for the boiler it was replaced just before they were due to visit under the previous owner of the houses contract with them and it was comdemed for the flue being too close to an external corner, a pathetic reason and frankly laughable IMHO

Frankly, Tom_Jones, I am becoming more tha a little worried about your comments in this thread.
Encouraging people to ignore British Gas advice could end up being extremely dangerous and other comments about British Gas practices could well be libelous.

Announcement: Warning! Always use a professional for gas maintenance and complex electrical repairs. Being safe is more important than MoneySaving.

I am a little concerned by some of the advice being given on this thread, so I'm going to close it temporarily and refer it to the team for a decision on whether or not it should be allowed to remain on the board.
