Full Refund ?

I purchased a 42" flat-screen TV back in March 2008 from Aldi at a cost of £569.99, (came with standard 3 yr warranty) unfortunately it went belly up last week, the repair company collected it and took it for repair, however they rang me today and told me it is unrepairable due to the part(s) being obsolete.
They also asked me to send them the receipt so that I could be refunded.
My question is........will I be entitled to a full refund or will they reduce it according to the amount of time I have had the set (26 months)?

You won't be entitled to a full refund, but they may still doSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Can i advise that you make a copy of the receipt before you send it0

Agreed!
After dealing with Currys (fair enough your dealing with Aldi), always keep the originals, only provide copies and keep all documents dealing with this issue to hand (you never know when you'll need what!)
Needless to say when the customer service desk at my local currys store saw a 20 something year old guy have all of these documents to hand with copies for them.. they were shocked :rotfl::exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
Just to let those of you who replied to my first post know that Aldi phoned me today and informed me that I will be getting a full refund of £569.99,
Therefore I'll be off to buy a Panasonic 42" plasma with 5 yrs free warranty for £579 at the weekend. (local dealer, not one of the big boys)
:j
So after all, it does seem that Aldi are true to their word regarding their 3yr warranties.0
