Reclaim Bank Charges!!!

Hello all-
A colleague directed me to this website, wich contains letters to write to your bank if you've been hit with bank charges over the years:

Apparently it's possible to claim these back in whole or in part?
I've been hit with £30 refferal fees a lot over the years... I just ordered my last 6 years bank statements and will spend an evening going through them all and working out exactly how much I've forked out on them...
Just wondering if anyone eles has done this and if they've had any luck? My colleague got £1,400 back, apparently... As a 'gesture of goodwill'!
Any thoughts?

It is not a gesture of goodwill, the charges are illegal but the banks just won't admit it, I got £50 as a gesutre of goodwill from Alliance and Leicester and £32 from Natwest to avoid long and protracted correspondance.If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
