Well your costs are less than your income so if you can manage each month there is no reason that you need to cut back (assuming that you are not in an increasing overdraft etc). But that said there are some areas you can cut back. What APR do you earn on your savings and how does this compare to the APRs you are paying on the loans?
Your living costs seem very cheap (rent & elec only) is this sustainable? if these are likely to increase then it might be sensible to start cutting back on some of the luxury spending in preparation.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Elec is pricey - it's ground source. I live in the servant's quarters of a mansion house that I rent so I can't change this
That's also why I don't pay council tax or water cos the big house pays that.
No I don't have contents - not really got much worth stealing
Food is the biggie - I need ideas on how to cut back. I have a very particular diet and I know that's what costs me the big bucks.
Maintenance for car is shared by me and partner and it's covered by warranty for 3 years which is why I put that lower.
Personal loan is to my Dad - 0% apr and ongoing until he decides otherwise. Probably at least another year's worth to go.
Car loan is about £10000 - not sure apr but it's a finance deal. Still about 4 years to go I think.
Regular saver - yes that was a bit over the top to save but I wanted to save for a trip which I don't think I'm going on now. It runs out in July when I get 3% interest from halifax. By the end I will have £6000 - end july.
shopping includes my clothes. I could save on a haircut as I'm trying to grow my hair now.
This sounds awful but I don't buy xmas presents as I don't believe in it...
I could've put something down for holidays but it's once a year and a bit ad-hoc so I never really know what i'm going to spend or when.
birthdays - prob buy 3 presents a year so that'd be about 10 a month if spread out.

Hi Mety, makes a bit more sense of your living situation now. Just a thought - if you have a TV would you need a TV licence in your situation (I'm not sure but just wondering).
With regards to the food buying it does depend on what restrictions are on you diet but one of the most frequent tips on here is to meal plan for every meal for a week in advance before you go shopping, this can help stop impulse buys and can ensure you don't buy more than you need and end up binning it.
Other tips are to try dropping a brand to buy supermarket brands on certain items, for some items there is very little difference, on any items you don't like you go back to buying the branded goods.
Also if you shop near the end of the day a lot of items are reduced in price (fresh fruit & veg, bread etc).
Do you have a freezer? could you batch cook meals in larger portions and then freeze into indivdual servings?
I think not buying xmas presents is a great idea not awful at all!

Yeah we don't need a tv license but don't watch telly anyway so that's ok
I think the meal plan is an excellent idea - I'm going to aim for a month's worth of plans to keep it varied and within a budget. I tend to buy mostly fruit and veg and am pedantic that it's organic so that obv bumps price up although there can be organic food reduced from time to time as not as many people will buy it.
I don't have a freezer but don't tend to make much that could be frozen.

Also do you have a farmers market as you will probably find that the prices there are cheaper than in the supermarkets. there are farmers markets but hilariously they sell everything but fruit and veg plus there aren't any organic ones nearby.
I have started growing some stuff but it's still in very early stages - can't wait for it to grow 0 -
To be fair your budget doesn't look too bad - yes there are areas to be cut down on if you want to but ie entertainment stuff and food but given that you are saving 500 a month - that's a fair amount. As your planned trip sounds like it's not happening
then you have the opportunity to use that money to pay off your debts and have a clean slate perhaps? without knowing the size of you debts it's difficult to say but 6000 Should be most of it? if not make a big dent? Also if you do have a bit of debt left over with the 500 a month you were saving you should be able to knock it on the head very quickly (plus the amounts you were paying to the debts that will now be paid off) and you may be able to get some good balance transfer deals when some of the debt is clear so that any remaining debt is at the lowest possible interst rate.
