I opened my account today. Very easy to do over the telephone, very very pleasant young woman took me through every step. I thought customer service was a thing of the past. Turns out I have to be going bankrupt to find it
If anyone is holding back from doing this, don't! Its very easy, she even explained what would happen in the bankruptcy process.

It's nice to speak to a "real" person. A friend of mine is BR and has a Co-op cashminder and has always been really impressed with their customer service. Thumbs up Co-op!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Mortgage free since 2014

I called them today to see if I was OK to carry on using my Cashminder account(Went bankrupt last Friday) They still hadn't heard anything from the OR about my bankruptcy but said they had put a note on the file, it wouldn't be frozen and I was fine to keep on using it.
I got through straight away, spoke to someone in the UK - excellent service.0 -
I hope you've all signed up for the Co-op Divi? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

I've been with co-op for 2.5 yrs since bankruptcy.. They are easy to get through to, british call centres, and easy enough online banking.
Things to watch:
3 strikes and your out! so be careful with managing your direct debits and card purchases.. They really will close your account down after 3 strikes.
Online banking is not up to date, it takes a few days to update. I always ring them, when you get through to options just smoosh the keypad and it will put you through to an operator and ask them your up to date balance. They will take off any pending transactions and give you an up to date balance.
If you get a returned Direct Debit, ring them! Don't be scared, they take a dim view of people not calling. If you call and speak to them they may refund your charge and try to help you out.
