Studying - Republic of Ireland

I'm going to be studying in the republic and therefore paying fees in euros
I'll be setting up an account in Ireland so I'm wondering what would be the best way to exchange the money, be it setting up new accounts or using cards. Its a large mount of money so exchange rates would make a big differences
Thanks
