Crisis Loan for late rent - please help

Is this possible? My housing benefit has been suspended for ages due to applying for ESA - they are dragging their feet and I wont be able to get any more housing benefit until I get my award letter - I'm already behind by nearly 2 months rent.

Can I get a crisis loan for this? I rent privately. I cant get kicked out, I have nowhere to go.

P.S. please dont just say 'get a job' because thats not useful.

if you have no income how would you pay back the loan?
I don't think you would get a crisis loan for that. Have you spoken to your landlord about this?

Speak to the HB section. They can award this on a nil or low income without waiting for ESA to be processed.

Crisis loans are paid back from benefit money usually. Which is why they're often awarded while you're waiting for your benefit to be processed.

Okay, well I'll call and ask about that tomorrow, I dont see why they didnt do that in the first place though. Thanks.

You won't qualify for a Crisis Loan for this, unfortunately, Crisis Loans don't cover this kind of housing cost. Suelees1 is right, you need to speak to the Council asap and get them to pull their finger out.
