Hello Lovely Techi peeps
Please can you answer a question for me
the new 3D TVs does the programme have to be sent out from the broadcaster in 3D or does the tv convert ordinary programmes to 3D and do you have to wear 3D glasses
Many Thanks

Has to be broadcast in 3D. And yes, at least the systems I've seen require you to wear glasses.
I won't be bothering...0 -
Broadcast in 3D or otherwise encoded in 3D (eg 3d DVD / BluRay / download)
only exception so far is video games as these all had 3D depth information already encoded due to the way modern graphics cards work, Nvidia has launched a product that auto converts these to 3D on the PC so far but others + the consoles will no doubt will follow soon0 -
Thank you not getting one sounds like a bit of a waste if the programmes are not being broadcast in 3D but just wanted to know out of curiosity0

In addition to the 3D glasses you also need a good supply of paracetamol:DThat gum you like is coming back in style.0

Some will "upscale" 2D to 3D, but by all accounts, this will be very basic, and in all probability, rubbish.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

There is at least one TV on the market (or almost on the market) that negates the need for glasses but it's obviously not going to be cheap. Runs in my mind it's an LG one but I can't remember 100%. If I find it I'll post a link.0

Who's going to sit in their house watching TV with 3D specs on?
I was in Curry's the other day and saw one. I thought the picture had gone funny - didn't realise it was a 3D telly.0 -
I find it a pain wearing 3D glasses and can't understand why cinema is pushing 3D films unless they are trying to create a market for 3D TVs where you have to wear glasses.
Very few films in 3D that work and then after about 1/2 hour the novelty starts to wears off.
I won't be bothering untill you can watch 3D TV without glasses, come to think about it I would have though that the cinema would be the first to introduce proper 3D without the aid of glasses before the advent of aidless 3D TV.0 -
They're definitely around and more on the way from what I heard. They use something called 'lenticular' technology if I remember rightly. Just wish I could find the article I was reading recently about it !0
