Postage issue

Can i have some help please, My daughter and I are selling things on ebay to raise money for a charity. I listed on Ebay UK only a Duplo Pirate Ship which sold and the cost for postage was £8.00 for a courier due to the size and weight, using parcel2go. The winning bidder lives in Tresco Isles of Scilly when I tried to organise the courier the cost shot up to 15.99 + VAT which brings it just over £18.00. I have emailed the buyer to explain this and that i have offered to refund her in full her payment, as i cannot expect the charity to foot this extra bill. I havent heard from her since so dont know what to do next... Am i right

If buyer has paid, refund, then send a new invoice with additional postage.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
In a word, no.
Whilst I sympathise, IoS are in the UK. So you should have added a note to your listing stating UK MAINLAND only.
You really cannot expect a buyer to pay more. However, you are a charity and so this is a difficult issue. Hopefully your buyer will be understanding.
Is it not easier to split the package into a weight that will go first class?0 -
Yes, we are part of the UK (Northern Isles) but I always ask what postal service will be used if not clearly stated, and would always check before bidding if it was a courier service, as couriers will charge more here, whereas RM is same prices!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Just post it Royal Mail parcels. You should get it there for that price. Not quite as secure but you will either need to take a chance or just ship it via courier.0

If you buy the postage via paypal you can get it for 10.99 for parcelforce. Rates to Scilly will be the same as the mainland

RM standard parcels also allows you to pay a pound or two extra to get compensation at various levels up to 500 pounds.0

I don't think this is correct. IoS are in zone 3.

The zones only count for contracts and accounts not for normal PF. Normal PF the price is the same all across UKParcelforce wrote:Prices do not vary by UK destination, only by weight. We class UK destinations as zone 1, 2 and 3
