grrrr...BookPeople rubbishness!!

Just come off the phone, from a rather rude woman about an order I'd placed with TheBookPeople.
Yesterday, I received the incredibly frequent mailings that I do, and went online to place an order. Checked the back of the mailing, and the help section, and the payment/checkout section. All say that solo and maestro are accepted as payment.
Get to the checkout to put in my payment details...no option for solo or maestro. Hmm, rechecked the help section, and there it is plain to see that they are accepted.
So entered my card details using Mastercard as the card type, as this is how I have entered details on other sites .
So a while later I get a phone call from a woman who won't actually stop to take breath so I can explain that their own site says that Solo is accepted, but the checkout doesn't have it as an option. I'm told in no uncertain terms that I am wrong, it is there, I can pay for it with Solo on the checkout, I'm wrong, I've put in all the numbers wrong
Again I try to explain that the option is NOT on the checkout, and that my card details (aside from the mastercard/solo) are correct, and I only put mastercard because there site doesn't show the solo option.
Instead, she goes into her mini rant over the top of what I'm trying to say, so I just said I'd ring back from a landline where I could hear her.
Luckily got a different person when I rang back, who has told me that from this week Solo and Maestro are no longer available as payment options, and that I would have to use another card (presumably I should just magic one out of thin air!)
But the website still has Solo and Maestro shown all over the site! Surely as a change to payment options (And I've been BookPeople for a long time and never had any trouble before) should actually be made quite a big thing of. Especially when the brand new mailings are coming out still showing Solo and Maestro as options!!

I'm annoyed, because I've bought many bargains from this company, but now because of their bizarre payment changes (and the fact they seem to hiding it!) I won't be using it again.
And at least make sure all your customer sales people are singing from the same hymn sheet when they ring.

Yeah, maybe, but how difficult is it to have a note on the site. And i doubt it was a spur of the moment decision, so why still be sending out mailers with incorrect information.
Or more importantly make sure the staff on the phones actually know what they should be saying before they become aggressive and rude on the phone.

I'm surprised about the rudeness. I've always had great service from the Book People and found the staff to be very polite.0
