Garden Wall falling down - Insurance claim?

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be worth persuing a house insurance claim for my boundary wall which is falling down after the bad winter we have had.

The mortar securing the bricks together seems to have 'blown' and the wall in places has begun to lean over quite severely.

Any comments would be useful as I've never claimed on insurance before.
Thanks in advance.

No claim possible. Wear & Tear. Any claim by a gradual cause will be excluded.

Someone I know, made a false claim in this situation. They reported to police that the someone had reversed their car into the wall, then drove off without leaving their details. They claimed under collision. Bit dodgy and they could have been caught out, if the Insurers had made enquiries with neighbours etc. I phoned them up pretending to be from the local police, saying that I had apprehended the bogus driver and asked would they come down to the station to assist with enquires. There was a sudden silence on the end of the phone, then with some lame excuse about being busy at the moment. Personally I find people that do this, are one step away from a trip to the magistrates when the get caught out.

Impersonating a policeman is a criminal offence liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or to both.

    Will you hand yourself in?

Nice one huckster. Condemning a claimant by impersonating a policeman isn't very clever! Fraudster!

In that case the cast of The Bill would have to arrested after each episode !

It was a joke, that lasted about 20 sec and then I told them it was a wind up.

Years ago we had to have our jeep towed away from the house and they winched it up onto the tow truck and the tow rope snapped. Our jeep ended up in next doors garden:eek:. Anyway it went through our dividing wall and luckily it did not hurt anyone.

The tow company boss turned up that night and agreed to pay for a new wall between us and next door and he also put some money towards our repairs for the jeep (which was not damaged in any way whatsoever) but he wanted to pay some towards the reason we were having it towed in anyway. It was a godsend that no-one was actually hurt or it did not happen on the mainroad.

In my part time stripper job, I run the risk every other night. Good on you Huckster - sometimes wearing a policemans uniform is necessary.
